Extremely sorry for the delay folks. For those of your how kept checking in to see, and seeing that the blog has been dead for a while, I owe you an explanation and an apology. I needed this time to go over the hundreds of products listed in Clickbank to try and figure out how to start.
But after this long, I guess there is no better way to do this but to simply use the categories set within the network, and build from there. So here goes.
Clickbank categories are as follows:
  • Business to Business
  • Health & Fitness
  • Home & Family
  • Computing & Internet
  • Money & Employment
  • Marketing & Ads
  • Fun & Entertainment
  • Sports & Recreation
  • Society & Culture
…and I am starting with Society and Culture since the products therein appear the most interesting to me!
After buying several of the products and using them, as well as reading oodles of stuff about them, I have shortlisted a few in this category and I am starting with a book that I think is highly useful..
It’s called “Make Money Selling Your Art On eBay“! (Who’d have thought!) I love this book, and so does my wife, who is a budding artist. The author Brett Raven does a wonderful job of explaining each step involved in detail, and hand holds you through the process from listing to positioning to even building a fantastic buyer base.
Quote from the artists’ own sales pitch:
” In the ebook, you’ll find:
  • Themes that sell really well. I give you a big list and even rate them!
  • Big mistakes being made by artists who sell on eBay.
  • Things successful artists are doing.
  • Talent: how even child-like art can sell.
  • Things to avoid when describing your art in your listings.
  • How to effectively expose your art to buyers.
  • Art image optimization techniques for better presentation
  • Pitfalls that many eBay artists get themselves into.
  • and much more…
I wish that there had been an ebook like this when I was screwing up through the years. I would have been successful a lot sooner. How effective is my ebook? Let me tell you this…. When I started selling art on eBay back in 1999, I was selling about 75% of my art. Times were good then for the American economy. When the economy began taking a dive, my sales ratio of listed art to sold art began fluctuating between 25% to about 50%. Man, those were some tough times. I had been really making huge mistakes now that I look back. If only I had “Sell Your Art Online!” With the economy the way it is today (unpredictable), I can attest to you, my sales ratio maintains a solid 99%! This could be you.”
He’s not lying, and he covers way more than that. If you’re an artist and want to learn how to make money online with the art you create, this is a must read. It is the definitive guide to selling art online; and not just on eBay! Once you’ve read this book, you would have understood the basics of how the trade works online, and how you can brand yourself and position yourself with each sale to garner higher and higher prices for your works of art!
Couple of examples of sites where you can sell your art once you’ve learned how to do it right are www.artquid.com and www.artnet.com.
Computer skills are a must ofcourse! :-)
